"the day has finally come…the fun has just begun"

On the subject of Lauras Lunchbox

hi there all. its tuesday the 29th of may. today is the day. how am i feeling?? interesting…excited..nervous. but good. i am fairly confident in how my group will go. we are completely finsihed and we have heaps of time to just practice and practice today. our only little dilemma has been our costume issue - about changing them, where its going to look messy, or leaving them on. we would all like to leave them on but there are a few problems comfort wise with some. today we are gonna have a big talk and finally decide..and then rehearse as much as we can!!! i wish everyone performing a massive massive massive amount of good luck, and ill perform to my best ability. THE TEENAGER HAS BEEN BORN. hahahah love laura

"loz dog is here"

On the subject of Lauras Lunchbox

hey there party people. well the time has almost come and i would just like to say a widespread ‘oh my god you guys rock my jocks’ to all the members of my group because i think we are going to be fantastic. confidence is the key DO YOU HEAR THAT JESS? umm we have worked incredibly hard and everything has now come together. we showed the majority of our performance to ms hamley, and the feedback was really helpful and pleasing, and we showed a section to our other marker ms heathcote, which was exciting because i hear she’s hard to please - but she seemed to like it! hurrah. yesterday we had a really successful rehearsal where we added in a new scene, a really fun one, and finalised our snippet scene. we also finally figured out our costume and transformation of object issue which has been troubling us, but not we have got it in there it adds so much more to the piece. we now have a rehearsal sunday, monday after school and tuesday afternoon to perfect our performance so its completely seemless and i think we can do it. good luck to everyone, and lets hope we do the best we can. WOOOOOOOOOOO thats all from me…and now for some waynes world quotes. no. im kidding. BAHAHAH. love loz

"We’re almost there!"

On the subject of General Stuff

howdy all. its been a while and we are coming close to the date that we perform, three weeeks from today!! in addition to the scenes we have already done we have heaps more ideas. we have an excellent and original begginning where we use elements of absurdist theatre and existentialist thinking, as well as theatre of cruelty during the ‘birth’ of the teenager’ we then go into our documentary idea, where we introduce the teenager. we got really good feed back from the class and teacher. our scene changes are our best point because they connect well and run  smoothly. we created a sex/abortion idea and are now focusing of the great australian dream displayed in the form of a game show - the political side of the 50’s. we have some awesome times of non naturalism with sound and movement and choreography, including a change from scene to scene using an army march. to create symbolism for the teenager we are using repition of movement connected with words - smoking, coca cola, fashion, rock and roll. we compare and contrast the relationship and acceptance of ‘teenagers’ in the 50’s and today. so far everything has been going really well, catching up in  free periods and out of school. we are doing another show and tell tomorrow, WISH US LUCK! we shall keep you updated - we plan to finish early and have plenty of time to rehearse and perfect. also so we dont stress!! and have time to change anything if need be. we will keep you posted, till then - PEACE OUT. love ljjc

"The story so far….yeeeee"

On the subject of General Stuff

hello there.
we have a bit of a structure going on for our ensemble which is exellente’ if i do say so myself. we have a main focus which consists of:
Asking the question and answering it > How was the teenager created? Using a variety of comparison, “Then and Now”, what is, what could of been SOCIALLY ECONOMICALLY POLITICALLY.

Scene Ideas (Scenes not neccessarily in this order)
* Beginning > Teenager hatches from egg, introduce the question “documentary style”. chris is the narrator and we are his subjects => briefly outlining some influences that created the teenager, bodgies, widgies, coca COLA, cigarettes, rock anda rolla.

*Home Economics class - (in 50’s) using “be a good housewife” guide showing the teenagers reactions Eg: “what if i dont want to get married???”

*Again documentary style scene => displaying what influence advertisers had MAJOR - on teenagers, then comparison between conservatives and teenagers - symbolism of words and movement. focul point words : ARGUE! REBEL!

*Second section of this scene (perhaps). comparison between parent + child relationship in the past (50’s) and future (now - 07). using a clap in unison to represent the changes in time EG: PAST *CLAP* future *clap*

*Tv show type display called “americanised”, in a way linking to the excessive and ridiculous ideas for reality tv these days. this is to emphasise the massive influence american culture had on teenagers in the 50’s => display this with the reality show idea of turning a regular conservatice aussie family in the 50’s to an AMERICAN STYLE.

*Scene involving politcal aspect with priminister at the time (robert menzies). need to elaborate and discuss more here…

we have tons more ideas to come, but right now they are all floating up in the air. we will try our best to get together over the holidays and not get too stressed about this. NOT LOOKING AT ANYONE. *jess* tee hee. so yes, we shall now revel in our glorious ideas, enjoy them, look but do not touch. MWAHAHAHHA. and now to finsih, some wayne’s world quotes.

“i like them teeny and tusty”

“im gonna be frank. ok..can i still be garth?”

“but really, i want to do something big. something mega. something copius something KAJUNGA.”

“yah. ive got a question. when did you turn in to a nut bar?”

“ok, so we’ll take this home, run through it with a fine tooth comb, cross the t’s and dot the…. lower case j’s.

“a gun rack. what am i gonna do with a gun rack. i dont even have one gun, let alone many guns, to neccessatate an entire rack.” Ramble On

"Ensemble Begins…………………."

On the subject of General Stuff

So far we have brainstormed ideas about the 1950s. We have some really great ideas were just not sure how to put them into action. The whole class did an exercise today, we had to make a short performance on characeture. we really liked james, eliza and seans idea of the tv transforming….accept we had already thought of that idea whilst brainstorming. woops. Some other really great ideas were contrast between parents and teenagers, talking individually while others are still in action. So far so good, but were unsure about how it will all come together..lets pray it will!!!!  till next time, signing out…….love from Laura, Jess, Jenny, Chris. peace out
